Who We Are
Tatty Shack is a quaint lil' tattoo shop located in Leland right outside of Wilmington, NC. Owner and lead artist Mark, sought to open a tattoo shop for all people, in a clean cozy environment. His vision is to not only provide awesome tattoos but to give an experience. Mark has been a professional tattoo artist for over 16 years.
We view the art of tattooing not only an experience but as an age-old tradition of self-expression through body art. Rooted in every tattoo is the understanding of the imagery, importance, & purpose of our clients tattoos.

Our shop is permitted and inspected through the NC Department of Health and Human Services.
HOW WE VIEW TATTOOS
We believe in leaving the ego at the door. Every person who desires a tattoo has a particular purpose and meaning behind it. Some are memorializing a life event, an experience, or a loved one. Other times it can just be for fun or you were inspired by an image online. Meanings are different for each person. Whatever your purpose or reason, we try to understand and adapt it to our craft.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Getting a tattoo is a collaboration between you and your artist, and we want to make sure you walk away with something you love. Here’s how the process works.

First, we’ll talk—whether in person or over the phone—to go over the style, size, placement, and type of tattoo you’re looking for. You can choose from our pre-designed tattoo art, also known as "flash," or request a custom design if you have something specific in mind.
​
If you’re opting for a custom piece, keep in mind that good tattoos take time. This isn’t fast food—you’re getting a piece of art that will last forever. Depending on the complexity, designing your tattoo can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours before it’s ready to go.

For larger or custom tattoos, expect to schedule an appointment. Some pieces require extra time for design prep, stencil placement, and multiple sessions to get everything just right.
